Retro fabulous

Luigi Malabrocca (1920 – 2006)

It’s all about coming first these days when it comes to the Giro d’Italia, but that wasn’t always so. There was a brief period, 1946 to 1951, in the Giro d’ Italia when the last rider in GC would wear the “maglia nera” (black jersey). Interestingly, the very last rider to wear it, in 1951, was Giovanni Pinarello who went onto launch the famous bicycle brand in his name.

Puerto Vallarta riviera

Puerto Vallarta is one of the friendliest and most diverse beach destinations in the world.  Once but a tiny fishing village, Puerto Vallarta is now a world class resort that has retained all of the quaint charms of the original village yet embodies all of the characteristics you’ve come to expect in a modern resort.

Hotel La Posada – “Diamond In The Rough”

Manzanillo is one of Mexico’s best-kept secrets, and one thing that keeps the area virtually untouched and unexplored, is that it’s a little hard to get to. There are many small hotels and motels, with room rates ranging from $15 a night to typical 5-star rates for hotels such as the Karmina Palace, Las Hadas and the Hotel Sierra.

 Leaving lake Chapala

Off the beaten path in Mexico

Three days spent here went by way too fast and it was time to leave. Ajijic already felt like place that we know very well and it was little sad that we had to leave. But, at the same time we were excited about all the new places we are planning to see today.

Arriving in Mexico

We landed in Guadalajara just before dusk in the early evening (18.5º C, sunny skies, sigh), after a comfortable five hour flight from Edmonton with one stop at Mexico City.
