Traveling Croatia

By: Zdenko Kahlina

After spending few days in Labin and Pula, we headed north along the Istrian coast. First stop was Fažana, small fishery town, settled amongst numerous pine woods and vineyards. Fažana lies opposite the Brijuni Islands, in the vicinity of Pula. It serves as a starting point for ships and shipping routes, mostly for the Brijuni islands.

Exploring Arizona

Scenic drive: Apache Trail

This world-famous trail was used by Apache Indians as a short-cut through the mountains to reach early Salt River settlers. The trail twists through the back of the Superstition Mountains from Apache Junction to Roosevelt Lake and the town of Globe.

 Guadalajara city

Welcome to Guadalajara. Mexico’s second largest city with over 5 million inhabitants. The charm of Guadalajara rests with its Spanish colonial flavor (established in 1542). No visit to Guadalajara is complete without spending a day in the Centro historico.

Discovering Sedona

By Zdenko Kahlina

A day trip to the north Arizona and the Red Rock of Sedona.
There is an old saying: “God created the Grand Canyon, but he lives in Sedona.” One trip to Sedona and you know it has to be true!

Riviera Nayarit – Guadalajara drive (Hwy 70)

After few days spent in Sayulita and Riviera Nayarit it was time to hit the road again and get closer to the place where we started this journey 15 days ago: Guadalajara.  As tourists with rented car we only take highways if necessary, so we wanted to stay on the small “libra” roads as long as possible and enjoy the scenery and local life.

The story of Fausto Coppi

By Zdenko Kahlina

A tribute to one of the greatest cyclists

If… in this bad, beautiful world competitive cycling has any relevance other than being the pursuit of adolescent endeavors, then perhaps the life of the Italian cyclist Fausto Coppi might serve to illustrate at least some of cycling’s sometimes complex involvement with the world at large.

Traveling USA

My trip to Phoenix, Arizona.

Things are different in the desert. The sky is bigger. The stars are brighter. The sunsets stop you in your tracks. It’s a feeling that can’t be conjured, landscaped or kindled with twinkling bulbs. Come to Greater Phoenix and you’ll understand.
