Message from Zdenko

First anniversary of the “Zdenko’s Corner” website existence is quickly approaching (January 3rd, 2010). During the past year I have created more than 180 blogs, evenly spread between two languages: English and Croatian.

Zdenko_Blue_web_small_logo1 Number of visitors is constantly on the rise and by the end of the year the website  reached more than 4,000 unique visitors each month, who reviewed more than 14,000 pages, with about 156,000 monthly hits. Very impressive statistics provided by my host Hostgator.

I take all this as a great success, because in January when I started with my website  I was thinking of creating a website only for my family and friends, who are spread all over the world. Basic idea was to post some great pictures from our vacations in Europe and share them between friends and family. I certainly did this and more…

The official website is still a work in progress, and I have been listening what others had to say about the website.

Based on your feedback during the last year with fantastic editorial ideas, you wanted me to improve the usability and design of the website. I have spent the subsequent months working on a strategy to make those dreams a reality. I realized it is time to divide my site between two languages, so you don’t get confused by looking at something you can’t read or understand.

The site will continue to be bilingual, written in English and Croatian, but you’ll have an option to choose what language you wish to read. As my mission statement claims, the main themes on this website will remain about travel, cycling, my home town Zagreb and about the city where I currently leave – Edmonton.

 I hope you’ll continue to find something enjoyable for your reading and promise you won’t be disappointed!
