We are continuing our adventurous trip through Cuba. So far we traveled from Havana to western part of Cuba to visit Pinar del Rio and Vinales. From there we returned back east to Varadero and Cardenas, where we stayed over night at casa particular. From Cardenas we traveled on small country roads thru many Cuban villages to visit Santa Clara.

We are continuing our adventurous trip through Cuba. After dropping off our friend Ljiljana at the Varadero airport, Vera and I drove to a small town Cardenas, which is only 38 km east of Varadero airport. There we could rent a room in casa particular since this would be illegal in Varadero.

Traveling Cuba – Part 1.

Havana – Casa particular
The best vacations are when you travel without schedule. I refuse to go on one of these “All inclusive” tourist packages where they give you a schedule and they say, “O.K., from nine to 10 we’re going to go to the museum, and then from 10 to 11, and we are going to the art museum, then we’ll stop for a lunch”. That to me is like being in school; that’s not a vacation.

Traveling Texas, USA

In September 2007 we spent delightful week in Texas. Vera and I used my business trip to San Antonio, to travel around Texas. We managed to travel around for few days (on the weekend) with rented car and went to visit places like Austin, Corpus Christi, Fredericksburg and other smaller places on our way. It was a week well spent!!

The Cycling World Hour Record is the most famous record in cycling. The hour record is established by riding the furthest distance on a velodrome in the time of 60 minutes. From 1893 to 2009 the best cyclists in the World have held the hour record including legends like Fausto Coppi or Eddy Merckx.
