The Harvest Ride was conceived of by Roger Tetrault in 2001 while he and Laura were out riding on an autumn day in Strathcona County. All the leaves were turning and the farmers were out in the fields cutting.

After a good night sleep in Virginia City, plan for today was to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (CBBT), which connects the northern tip of Virginia to the southern tip of Maryland.

More than the sand

Curiously, the city’s imposing 34-foot statue of the Roman deity is facing away from the water, toward the boardwalk and beyond, as if to suggest: There’s more going on here than just surf and sand. He’ll get no argument from me.

Walking tour of Yorktown, VA

Off the beaten path to visit historical Yorktown

After we left Fredericksburg we were heading south on Route 17 which is actually a George Washington memorial Highway. This is an amazing road. Not very busy, but going through some beautiful scenery.

A tear in my eye for the man I’ve never met

 
 

This morning I was shocked to hear that Laurent Fignon passed away. A tear came to my eye for the man I have never met.
