Journey to the central Oaxaca (Mexico) coast…
5th – 8th March: After about seven weeks of traveling through semi-arid central Mexico we were extremely excited to get going on the next leg of our journey – down to the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. That’s an understatement; in fact I was visibly drooling with anticipation of a swim in the sea. We’d also spent seven weeks toiling up and down mountains at or above 1,500 meters in altitude. We could hardly contain ourselves at the prospect of the descent to sea level!

Edmonton heritage

Students love HUB Mall… and me too!
I really like HUB Mall. I have always wished that I attended University here in Edmonton, just so I could live in the dorms upstairs and start my own pattern of pop cans in the windows.

The Sierra Madre del Sur Mountains by bike!
This winter I Climbed the Sierra Madre del Sur Mountains in Mexico on my bike! It was 20 (!) kilometers all uphill! That day, that ride… that weather… it was all unforgettable! But if someone asks me to do it again I would do it in a flush!!

Reflections on my bike riding in Mexico
Living in Canada means no road biking for at least six months during the winter. When February arrived I couldn’t wait any longer to escape the Canadian cold and become a snowbird… again! So, it was time to get off of the rollers and treadmill in my basement and do some road biking in the small-town of Huatulco, one of my favorite holiday escape destinations in Mexico.
