Edmonton heritage

Iconic structure arose again on original site.
The other day on my way to Shaw Convention centre I passed by the newly built ‘Alberta Hotel’ on Jasper Avenue. What an incredible building. It’s been rebuild from pieces lying in storage since the historic structure was demolished 25 years ago.

Bike Travel – Where Road Meets Wilderness
The sign cautioned ‘it is unlawful to feed the animals’. I smiled to myself and wondered if I was committing a crime. I may not have been feeding the animals, but I was certainly baiting them. I was clearly the straggler in the herd, the easy kill, the wildebeest who crossed one river too many.

Discovering Costalegre, or ‘happy coast’
Travel north from Manzanillo on Mexico’s Pacific coast – to the central coastal area of the country- and you’ll discover Costalegre. This stretch of coastline located between Costa Majahuas and Cihuatlán is named Costalegre or “happy coast.” Others describe the Costalegre as the area between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo. Either way it is still “the happy coast”..
