Visiting Hawaii (Oahu)

By: Zdenko Kahlina

Healing Our Spirit Woldwide
Thanks so much for your interest and reading about our trip to Oahu. We left for a 10 nights vacation on September 3rd and were very excited. Vera was attending the sixth gathering for aboriginal people from all over the world, under the name “Healing Our Spirit Woldwide”. While she was busy in the Hawai’i Convention Center most of the days, I was riding my bike and exploring the city and the whole island of Oahu.

9th Anniversary

By: Zdenko Kahlina

‘Zdenko’s Corner’… it’s been nine years already!
Nine years ago I created my own web page ‘Zdenko’s Corner’. Words can’t express how that silly, simple, little thing changed my life. Thanks to everyone who has read, liked, shared and commented on my posts! Other thanks to everyone who just stopped by and took a quick peek without reading or leaving comments. You all are the best!

Winter training

By: Zdenko Kahlina

Suffering on the Turbo trainer in the basement.
If you have used the turbo trainer like me, suffering in the pain cave surrounded by snow, getting photos from Los Angeles friends, still riding outside and doing paceline work and dreaming of the spring – you know the trainer is a necessary evil for all of us cyclists in Canada.

Edmonton life

How to survive Edmonton winters
It’s only November and I’m starting to feel the winter crazies. Winter has officially arrived in Edmonton, like it does every year. That’s one season that never fails. And when winter arrives it’s time to take out the warm gloves, hats, scarves and shovels. Edmonton endures very cold winters, with quite a long snow season.

Exploring El Arco – So stunning!
At the very tip of the cape, and of the Baja California Peninsula, is Baja’s most famous landmark, El Arco, the exclamation point at the end of the Baja Peninsula.

Cycling in Baja California, Mexico
I was reading some travel reports about people who cycled from California all the way down south to Cabo San Lucas, most of them on mountain bikes. Still, I haven’t heard about someone’s experience riding a road bike in Los Cabos area. That’s exactly what I did in December and I wanted to share my experience with you!

Best Western Posada Real, San Jose del Cabo
My wife and I stayed at this resort for ten days during December 2012. I have read some of the reviews about this resort before our trip and was a bit worried with some of the complaints about the resort size and their food. But we had a great time there!
